Zeta Alpha Achievement Week 2010
Written by Michael Putney
Wednesday, 19 November 2008

The brothers of Zeta Alpha Chapter celebrated Achievement Week Activities during the week of November  14 - 20 by attending church services at Spring Green Baptist Church in Warren County.  The chapter recognized Linda  Worth, the county manager of Warren County and  the wife of Brother Charles Worth, as its Citizen of the Year at our annual luncheon that was held at Middleburg Steak House.

The brothers celebrated the 99th anniversary of the founding of our beloved fraternity with a rededication ceremony on November 17, 2010.  Brother Brian Beverly, Sixth District Counselor, was the keynote speaker.

One highlight of Zeta Alpha's Achievement Week Program includes recognizing chapter brothers.  Basileus Dana Small awarded the Basileus Award to Brother Nathaniel Yarbrough for his outstanding service and support.  Brother Michael Putney Sr.  presented the Founders' Award to Brother Dana Small for his hard work and dedication to the chapter.   The senior brothers were recognized by the neophytes.

At the conclusion of the program, Brother Dr. Abram Liles led the brothers in the reaffirmation of the Fraternity's Oath.

Brother Dr. Francis Powell, Achievement Week Chairman, coordinated the activities.

Greetings:

On behalf of the brothers of Zeta Alpha chapter, I am pleased to welcome you to the Zeta Alpha Ques' website.  Our chapter has a long history of providing community service and support to humanity.  We award academic scholarships to students who matriculate through college, sponsor young boys to the Sixth District Boy's Camp, and conduct dental health screenings during the month of February in conjunction with North Carolina Dental Health Day. We are also actively involved with the local library and the public schools, serving as mentors to the youth.  Additionally, we have conducted voter registration drives and assisted with prostate cancer screenings.

Our goal is to continue to serve our community and be advocates for others as we strive to live by our four cardinal principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift.

Zeta Alpha Chapter is composed of brothers from Franklin, Granville, Vance and Warren counties. Our fraternity house, the Omega Den, is located in Henderson, North Carolina. We are proud members of the Mighty Sixth District.

Dana Small, Basileus
Zeta Alpha Chapter
